Big news as we close out 2024! The Ocean City Development Corporation (OCDC) has been awarded $450,000 in grants from Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development to supercharge downtown revitalization in Ocean City. Here’s what’s happening:

  • Restoring History: $300,000 will help preserve the iconic Henry Hotel, a historic site with ties to Jazz legends like Duke Ellington. Once restored, the hotel will become a museum celebrating the African American experience in OC.

  • Fresh Looks: $100,000 will continue the Façade Improvement Program and launch the new Commercial Façade Improvement Program—offering up to $10,000 for downtown businesses to enhance storefronts, awnings, and more.

  • Building Greener: $50,000 will fund energy-efficient upgrades like new windows and doors through the Green Building Initiatives Program.

This is more than just a win—it’s an investment in what makes Downtown Ocean City so special. From the charm of historic Baltimore Ave and its side streets to the energy of the Boardwalk, we’re shaping our future one building at a time. Questions about funding? Call 410-289-7739 or email: inquire@ocdc.org to learn more about our programs.
