Streetside Fence Program

302 Baltimore Avenue-AFTER.jpg

The Streetside Fence Program provides financial assistance to property owners and tenants looking to install an attractive, approved fence along a public right-of-way in downtown Ocean City. If your property is south of 17th Street, you may qualify for a grant of up to $2,000 to improve curb appeal while maintaining the character of the downtown area.

Funded by OCDC fundraising events, the Worcester County Commissioners, and the Town of Ocean City, this program ensures that fences meet Downtown Design Standards and complement the surrounding streetscape.

Financial Assistance

  • Up to $2,000 in grant funding (must be matched by at least $4,000).

  • Covers one-third of eligible fence installation expenses.

Eligibility

To qualify, your property must:

  • Be south of 17th Street (with some exceptions).

  • Have a fence that borders a public right-of-way or is clearly visible from the street.

  • Painted or stained materials in white or light colors.

  • Front yard fences that are not directly streetside but still highly visible.

  • Fences up to 36” in height (taller fences may be approved by the OCDC Board).

Not Allowed:
