Commercial Façade Improvement Program

The Commercial Facade Improvement Program helps business owners and property owners upgrade storefronts and street-facing exteriors in downtown Ocean City. If your commercial property is located south of 17th Street, you may qualify for a grant of up to $10,000 to revitalize your building’s appearance and enhance curb appeal.
With funding from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, OCDC provides financial and technical assistance to support downtown Ocean City's ongoing transformation.
Financial Assistance

Up to $10,000 in grant funding (must be matched by at least $20,000).

Can be combined with other OCDC grant programs (total grant funding may not exceed one-third of total project costs).

Approval for additional funding is at the discretion of the OCDC Board of Directors.
Eligibility
Your commercial property must be located south of 17th Street (with some exceptions). Eligible renovations include:

Storefront renovations (new or upgraded)

Boardwalk store roll-up door replacement or refurbishment
-
Siding and trim improvements
-
Restoration of historic or architecturally significant features
-
Decks, porches, stairs, and handrails
-
Awnings and canopies
-
Exterior lighting enhancements

Window replacement and framing visible from the street

Commercial-grade storefront door installation or replacement
-
Screening of parking areas, trash receptacles, and loading docks

Other OCDC-approved exterior improvements
